The complete terms for buying from Serin Labs, in plain language. Last updated July 18, 2026.

Ordering & Payment

Orders are placed through our Etsy shop, which handles checkout and payment securely, so Serin Labs never sees your card details. Every order is also covered by Etsy Purchase Protection.

Shipping

• US orders ship free. Everything ships from New Jersey.
• Processing time: 1–2 business days from order to dispatch. US delivery typically lands within a few days of shipping; the exact estimate appears at checkout.
• International orders: buyers outside the US may owe duties or import fees on delivery. Message the shop before ordering to confirm how they'll be handled. We're not responsible for customs-related delays. (US buyers never see extra fees; the checkout price is final.)

Cancellations

You can cancel an order within 12 hours of purchase for a full refund. After that the order has usually entered processing, so message the shop and we'll do what we can.

Returns & Exchanges

• Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of delivery.
• To start one, message the shop on Etsy (fastest) or use the contact form with your order number.
• Items should come back in the condition you received them, with the included cable. A flashed controller is fine; firmware doesn't affect returns.
• Return shipping is paid by the buyer, except for defective or incorrect items (see below), where we cover it.

Refunds

Refunds go to the original payment method once the return arrives and checks out, normally within a few business days of delivery back to us. Etsy controls the exact posting time to your card or bank.

Defective or Incorrect on Arrival

If a controller or cable arrives damaged, won't function, or isn't what you ordered, we replace it or refund you in full and cover all shipping both ways. Your choice. For a unit that won't respond, check the troubleshooting guide first (the most common “dead board” is a charge-only USB cable), then message the shop with your order number and what you're seeing.

Warranty

Beyond the 30-day return window, hardware is sold as-is, without an extended warranty. That's the honest trade-off behind a $35 controller. The firmware is open source and free forever, with no subscription attached to the hardware. Note that adding any third-party accessory to your HVAC equipment may affect the equipment manufacturer's warranty terms; see licenses & compliance.

Disputes & Questions

Something not handled to your satisfaction? Message the shop or use the contact form. We reply within 2 business days and would much rather fix a problem directly than have you need Etsy's dispute process (which remains available to you).
